Travel Companion Information. When you make a reservation for someone else through our websites, we will request personal information and travel preferences about that individual. You should obtain the consent of other individuals prior to providing us with their personal information and travel preferences, as any access to view or change their information will be available only through your account.
Social Media/Facebook. If you make use of any social media features on our website, the social media provider may send us information in line with their policies that information may include your name, profile picture, gender, friend lists and any other information you have chosen to make available...
How we collect data
Your personal information is collected directly from you whether it’s in person, by telephone, email, through our website, mobile site, social media or any other contact we or our business partners may have with you. You data is collected when you complete a profile, request form, purchase travel and communicate with us.
How we use your information
We use credit card information (such as cardholder name, credit card number, and expiration date) for the purpose of completing the travel bookings you conduct on our site. We use other information about you for the following general purposes: to provide you with the products and services you request; to provide you with travel confirmation and updates; to manage your account, including processing bills and providing travel notifications; to communicate with you in general; to respond to your questions and comments; to allow us to contact you for customer service, if necessary; to measure interest in and improve our products, services, and website; to notify you by email about special offers and travel-related products and services that may be of interest to you if you choose to opt-in to our newsletters.
Email Communications. We want to make it easy for you to take advantage of travel-related opportunities on our website. One way we do this is by sending you email messages that contain information about your travel-related interests. At the time of booking or communicating with us you will have the option to Opt-in to receive email marketing communication from eTravel. Please note that you will have the opportunity to opt-out at any time to these email messages.
Disclosure of Information
To ensure a seamless travel experience we may be required to share your information with the following:
- Travel suppliers and credit card checking companies
- Third Party vendors such as airlines, insurance companies, cruise lines, car rental companies and other service providers
- Regulatory bodies, law enforcement and agencies to protect against fraud or related security / illegal activities
- Travel suppliers may use your information to pass to government agencies.
Retention of Data
We retain data that is required in our contractual duties in the provision of services to the company and their employees. You have the right to ask in writing for a copy of the information we hold about you (for which we may charge a fee) and to correct any inaccuracies in your information. The clearance of your personal data is completed in accordance with the EU Data Protection Directive and is done in three phases once your journey is completed. We are required to retain certain data up to one year from your travel in case of a discrepancy.
In the case of incomplete bookings, according to the present GDPR procedure, information on unfinished bookings are kept for a period of 15 days after that all data is cleared by an automated script.
We review the data frequently and only retain for as long as necessary.
If you have created a profile on our website, you would have voluntarily provided us with personal and contact information in order to speed up the booking process and for you to manage and view your past and future travel. You have the right at any time to login to your profile and remove / delete it.
How we protect your information
We want you to feel confident about using our websites to make your travel bookings, and we are committed to protecting the information we collect. While no website can guarantee 100% security, we have security procedures in place to protect your personal information you have provided to us and to ensure it is only used for your travel needs.
You can opt-in to receive email marketing communications from eTravel. This can be done during or after the booking process and on our website. You have the right to opt-out and this option will be available on all email marketing email communication.
Use of “Cookies”
A cookie is a small piece of data sent form our web server to your computer’s memory. Cookies allow us to identify your computer but not you personally. Cookies are used to make your interactions online more convenient for you.
You can disable cookies using your own browser settlings however this may effect what information you will have access to on our websites.
Our website(s) may contain links to other sites not controlled by us. These sites may send you cookies and collect personal data. We are not responsible for the actions, content or the privacy policies of those websites.
To ensure that we carry out your instructions accurately, to help improve our service and in the interest of security, we may monitor and /or record your telephone calls, customer activities using CCTV recording equipment on our premises and customer transactions and activities on our website. All recordings are and shall remain our sole property.
